You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.

I'M FINALLY KICKING INFLUENZA B'S BEHIND! It's about time too. After being sick three times since 2009 has started I am over with being ill. I have no time to lay in bed and rest, I have things to do, exams to study for, and better yet, places to go! Although, if you are sick and you're coughing and your throat hurts, Halls Breezers pectin throat drops are LIFESAVERS. They are amazing. I highly suggest anyone who is sick right now, purchase these immediately. They help a LOT. Valentine's Day was good. My family and I ended up going to Stars On Ice after all and it was great! The men skated wonderfully! The girls...no comment hahah. Oh, funny thing to mention: I sound like Pinnocio, no joke.

Tomorrow, my Mom and I are going to run errands and pick up things for my trip to Colorado this weekend! I am very excited to go to the mall and get my hands on MAC's Hello Kitty collection! RJ ordered a few things online for me, which I am so thankful for because right after he bought them, they sold out! I'm also going to buy a couple things from other stores, so I'm going to make a little video and upload it.

Currently, I'm reading Diary by Chuck Palahniuk, and it's absolutely amazing (no surprise there). This is definitely one of my new favorites behind Invisible Monsters. The story is so interesting and the characters are so deep, I love it. I should have this finished before I go on my trip, so during my flight, I'm going to read Haunted.

As promised, more pictures from Carolina delRivero:

Saw these absolutely beautiful Pradas at Nordstrom's. My sister wanted me to buy them, I told her I wanted to wait. Why did I do that? I must be losing my mind...

Another week has passed, another top 5 Playlist to have. It was really hard for me to just pick five songs, and I noticed I went back to a lot of songs I was listening to last year, but goes:

1) "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure
2) "I Wish" by The Secret Handshake
3) "Sex On Fire" by Kings of Leon
4) "If Only They Knew" by A Rocket To The Moon
5) "Boys From Nowhere" Turbonegro

thinking of the weekend we were in love

Happy Valentine's Day!!! I don't exactly celebrate Valentine's Day, but I thought I'd post a blog entry anyways for those who do celebrate. Somehow, I've managed to get sick again, and last night I had a really high fever and I was having hallucinations...not fun at all. I'm still deciding whether or not I should go to the show later, my health is more important and I can't afford to be sick at all.

On Valentine's Day, at my old school we would sell carnations, white for friendship, pink for like, and red for love. My Dad is bringing home carnations later, I'm so excited. I had a bit of a baking party and made red velvet cupcakes. I've been devouring them ever since. Red Velvet cupcakes are my favorite.

MAC Cosmetics has finally released their Hello Kitty line and I am beyond ecstatic! I have been waiting for this for a while. I haven't had time to go to the mall and pick up some items, but the pictures are so pretty! I love both the Hello Kitty Mild and Hello Kitty Wild collections. I've been saving up, so I have money to go buy what I want. I hope this line stays for a while. Once I get my hands on these products, I'll review them.

A few items I want are:
Brush Holder Set
Petite Makeup Bag
Beauty Powder in Tahitian Sand

So two blog entries ago, I promised some really beautiful pictures that I found on Flickr. I swear I visit that website every hour I'm on the internet. I love the pictures on there. Anyway, came across this page by Carolina delRivero and she has AMAZING pictures of shoes! Get ready for a lot of pretty! I could stare at these pictures for days. I'm only going to post a few now...I'll post the rest in a later blog entry, just to keep you on your toes.

I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day! I'm a big quote person, so here are two of my favorite love quotes.

  • "In love, one and one, are one." by Jean-Paul Sartre
  • "Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but looking together in the same direction." by Antoine De Saint Exupery

in the eye of storm, you'll see a lonely dove.

I really need sleep. I really require shuteye, but I don't think it's going to happen within the next hour. Tomorrow is going to be the longest day of the week for me and one of the hardest to get through. Nothing new has really been going on, although BLINK 182 IS GETTING BACK TOGETHER! Viky and I celebrated that a little bit today at the rink. Too bad we weren't on the ice together so we couldn't blast any of it and sing like idiots. hahah. I need a night just to stargaze. I love sitting on my roof and just looking at the stars, it's very peaceful and tranquil.

My hair stylist gave me this conditioner to use when I went in for a haircut earlier on in the year and I absolutely love it! It's Redken Body Full Conditioner. So far it works great. I hardly have to use any and it glides through my hair really well. I'm not too sure whether it's the cut or the conditioner, but my hair is A LOT BIGGER. It's actually got some poof!

This saturday is Valentine's Day and I'm going to Stars On Ice! I haven't been to an ice show in years! I especially wanted to watch last year, but I got busy. This year Sasha Cohen, one of my favorites also comes out in a program where she has her own set of wings. This reminds me of Victoria's Secret. She's also skating to "Please Don't Stop The Music" and "Moonlight Sonata", two completely opposite programs. Other skaters I'm looking forward to are Jeff Buttle, Xue Shen & Hongbo Zhao, and a few ice dancers. To give you a little glimpse of Sasha's wings...

My Top 5 songs this week are:

1) "On The Wing" by Owl City
2) "Told You So" by Jesse McCartney
3) "Super Villian" by Powerman 5000
4) "Someone To Love" by Joseph Veazie
5) "Trouble" by Nevershoutnever!

If you haven't heard any of them, I highly suggest you go download them right now :] Owl City is my all time favorite right now. I love Adam Young.

you can taste the bright lights, but you won't get them for free.

A lot has happened lately. The Vietnamese New Year Festival was a big success and so was the Saturday Ocean Fashion Show! I love watching Lion Dances even if the fire crackers are insanely loud. I also got the honor of writing out the lotto numbers onstage. At first it was very confusing and I didn't know what in the world I was doing, but once I got the hang of it, I felt so much like Vanna White! hahah. In addition to all the festive activities, I helped raise a lot of money for VAC. It's always a great feeling to help out a good cause.

Unfortunately I got VERY VERY sick after the festival. I was laying in bed for about two days, practically unconscious. I'm feeling much better now, even though I've somehow managed to lose ten lbs. YIKES! I'm working on gaining it all back as well as jumping back into my regular routine. Like usual I am buried in homework. I have so much going on this weekend. Actually, the rest of this month! As usual, I am swamped in homework. I have so much to do, but I'm staying very organized and things are going well.

My desktop computer is down at the moment. It's very tragic. I haven't had time to look at pictures from the festival, but Angel was kind enough to send me a few. Here's one of Viky and I after the fashion show in our Winter Wear.

Tomorrow is an event-filled day. Lots of VAC Activities and hopefully Cotillion, if time provides. I really want to find time to bake some cupcakes, probably red velvet, but I doubt I'll have the time. In between classes, I've been reading a lot. Mainly re-reading a few of my old Chuck Palahniuk favorites and reading new ones for the first time. I love that man! He is such an amazing writer. Right now my favorite book by him is Invisible Monsters and Rant. All of his books are fantastic so it's definitely hard to pick a favorites. I certainly suggest you pick up any of his books, you will get hooked for sure!

I've decided that I'm going to start watching Heroes (as if I even have time! lol). I know they used one of my favorite songs, "Light Up The Sky" by Yellowcard for the Season 1 Finale, and after all of the talk and talk and hype, I'm going to find some time to watch. Following House M.D. has been great fun. I can't wait to see what's next. I love science and medicine, not enough to actually persue a career in that field, but I really enjoy learning about it and such. There won't be a new Gossip Girl until March, but that's alright. I'm going to be kept busy. However, I did find an on-set picture of Nate and Blair in liplock. What does this mean? I love Chuck and Blair dearly, and Nate...well Nate is cute and all, but he's kissed every main female character on the show. And isn't he with Brooklyn girl, Vanessa?

I found some great pictures for my next entry, so stay posted! The weather is getting warm, so I'm looking forward to breaking out my spring wardrobe. It snowed in March last year, maybe we'll get the same thing again? We'll see. What's your favorite tv show? What are you looking forward to for Valentine's Day?
